Miki Stricker-Talbot approaches life with an innate curiosity and an unabashed optimism. Based on Treaty 6 lands in Edmonton, she leads Volunteer Alberta, bringing a systems lens to strengthening the nonprofit and voluntary sector—leading with care, creativity, and a belief that how people feel about their work is as important as the work itself.
Miki’s path has wound through public service, social innovation, and the arts. At the City of Edmonton she helped steward Recover Urban Wellbeing and served as the City’s Hospitality Destinations Planner with Responsible Hospitality Edmonton, leading projects that turned Edmonton’s nighttime economy into a space of creativity, vibrancy, and safety. She is also co-founder of U.N.I.C.O.R.N.S. (the United Network of Innovative Change-agents Organizing to Realize New Strategies)—a peer network that supports changemakers working within government systems—and former co-convener of the Systemic Design Xchange (SDX), a community of practice exploring design for complex social challenges.
“The act of convening can feel radical. Do it anyway. The universe will catch you.” –Miki Stricker-Talbot
